Teri started singing professionally at 15 and led her first band in high school. After touring for two years post-graduation, she earned a jazz vocal scholarship at Cornish College of the Arts, studying under notable mentors such as Joni Metcalf, Gary Peacock, Maurice Stern, Julian Priester, Lowell Roddenberry, & Jerry Gray.

Her jazz and soul roots shine in various musical projects. Founding bands like The Teri Derr Band, Blues Therapy, & Hot Pursuit - Participating in many CD projects for other
artists and projects. She has collaborated with artists like Michael Peterson. Teri's passion for singing also extends to teaching, alongside her performing commitments.
